… are alive at Merrehope and the F.W. Williams house, both historic homes in Meridian. Each home stands as a testament to time. Each speaks volumes about Meridian’s history. Merrehope is the only historic home open to the public. Despite General William T. Sherman’s Civil War claims that “Meridian no longer exists,” Merrehope is one of Meridian’s only remaining Greek Revival homes. See the full history of Merrehope.
Original cottage built in 1859 by Richard McLemore as a wedding gift for his daughter.
